According to legend Icarus was the son of Daedalus, who was the architect to King Minos.
Daedalus fell out of favor with the King when he reveled the secret of the Labyrinth he designed.
Daedalus and Icarus were locked in a tower on the Island of Crete
Daedalus made wings of Wax and Feathers for himself and Icarus so they could escape, but because Icarus ignored his fathers warnings he flew to close to the Sun and his wings melted, Icarus plunged into the sea.
Icarus today do it safely and with grace.
